Hatley Elementary Handbook
Dear Hatley Elementary School Families,
It is my honor to welcome you to Hatley Elementary School! I am proud to serve as the principal of this amazing and very special school. I am glad that you are part of our school community. We believe that we are more than a school, we are a school community.
I believe most people would agree that you can feel how special our school is as soon as you come inside. We are a small school where relationships among students, staff and families are nurtured and treasured. We cherish the benefits of being a small school while we belong to a large district where high expectations, high quality educational programs and continuous improvement help us meet the needs of every child.
At Hatley Elementary, we believe in the power of hard work, respect, personal responsibility, teamwork and doing our best to meet each student where they are at. We are proud of our culture of learning where we are committed to ensuring that every day is an opportunity for our students to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. It is also important to us that every child enjoys coming to school every day and that they know they belong.
We value our school community partnerships. Our Parent Teacher Organization is exceptional in supporting our students and teachers by supporting classroom needs, field trips and fun family events throughout the year. Well over 75% of our students and families typically participate in these events! Our adult mentors and volunteers go above and beyond in providing additional support to our school. Perhaps you would like to help? When families and schools work together, great things happen for kids. Thank you for being a good partner!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out, get involved, or stop by to say hello. You and every child matters at Hatley Elementary.
With warmest regards,
Mr. Scot Abel, Principal and the Hatley Elementary Staff
